He attended Royal Oak High School in Covina, California, but dropped out in his senior year to pursue his music career.

Lee’s music career began in the early 1980s when he joined the Los Angeles-based rock band Suite 19. In 1981, he joined Mötley Crüe as their drummer, and the band quickly became one of the most successful and influential acts of the decade. With Lee on drums, Mötley Crüe released a string of hit albums, including “Shout at the Devil” (1983), “Theatre of Pain” (1985), and “Girls, Girls, Girls” (1987).

In addition to his work with Mötley Crüe, Lee has also pursued a successful solo career. The couple divorced in 1998 but had an on-and-off relationship for several years. In 2018, Lee married social media star Brittany Furlan.
