Bill Ackman’s real name is William Albert Ackman. He was born on 11 May 1966, to Lawrence Ackman and Ronnie Posner, in Chappaqua, New York. His father was the former chairman of Ackman-Ziff Real Estate Group, a New York real estate financing firm. He completed his Bachelor of Arts degree magna cum laude in social studies from Harvard College in 1988 and completed his Masters in Business Administration from Harvard Business School.
In 1992, Bill Ackman and David P. Berkowitz founded the Gotham Partners investment firm. Gotham made the same investments in public companies.
