Suze Orman is an American television host, author, financial advisor, and podcast host. She is the CEO of Suze Orman Financial Group. He is known as a host of The Suze Orman Show on CNBC. She was the vice president of Prudential Bache Securities. She currently hosts Suze Orman’s Women & Money Podcast.

Early Life

Suze was born on 5 June 1951, in Chicago, Illinois, United States, to Ann and Morry Orman. She completed her B.A in social work. After graduation, she worked as a waitress in Berkeley, California.

Career

After working a few years as a waitress, she borrowed $52,000 from her friend to start her own restaurant. She invested that money in trading in options and lost her money. Later, she trained as an account executive for Merrill Lynch. After completing her training she then joined Prudential Bache Securities, as a vice president.

In 1997, she resigned from Prudential Bache Securities and founded her own company Suze Orman Financial Group. She was the director of the firm until 1997. 

From 1995, Suze Orman authored ten books, some of which are You’ve Earned It Don’t Lose It, The 9 Steps to Financial Freedom, The 9 Steps to Financial Freedom, The Courage to be Rich, The Road to Wealth, The Laws of Money, The Lessons of Life, The Money Book for the Young Fabulous and Broke, The Money Class, The 2009 Action Plan, Women & Money, and  The Adventures of Billy & Penny.

She published updated versions of three of her best-selling books Orman’s Action Plan: New Rules for New Times, The Money Class: How to Stand in Your Truth and Create the Future You Deserve, The Ultimate Retirement Guide for 50+, and Women & Money: Be Smart, Strong and Secure.

In 2002, she began hosting the Suze Orman Show on CNBC. The show aired 128 episodes through 2015 and ran for 8 years. Orman wrote a financial advice column for O, The Oprah Magazine. She is the former author of Yahoo!’s “Money Matters”. She contributed to  Costco Connection Magazine. She contributed to The Philadelphia Inquirer, Lowes MoneyWorks, and Your Business at Home Magazines. 

In 2016, she was the personal financial educator at the United States Army and Army Reserve.

In 2018, she was the special advocate for the National Domestic Violence Hotline.

Currently, she hosts the Suze Orman Women & Money Podcast. She is the co-founder of Securesave.
