Leonardo DiCaprio’s real name is Leonardo Wilhelm DiCaprio. He was born on 11 November 1974, in Los Angeles, United States, to George DiCaprio and Irmelin. His father George was a writer, distributor, and publisher of comic books, and his mother was a legal secretary. 

He was named Leonardo because he first kicked in his mother’s womb while she was looking at Leonardo Da Vinci’s painting.

One year after his birth, Leonardo DiCaprio’s parents separated and he moved to Los Angeles with his mother. He attended Seeds Elementary School and John Marshall High School. He dropped out of his school to improve their family’s financial condition, but still, he managed to complete his GED.
